Hey Everybody,
Just wanted to update you guys with the newest things in my life.
For those of you who dont know, Im working at an engineering firm in Hot Springs Arkansas. Doing mostly design/CAD drafting work, with more and more engineering thrown in there. Hopefully one of these days I can get moved into the engineering department and become a full-time invested employee here, but in the meantime, Ill concentrate on learning the trade and making myself better.
Hannah is currently in Costa Rica. On a mission trip. With Redeemer Church out of Little Rock. They went to work at an orphanage to play with the kids and do some manual labor. Hannah has been there a few times before, and loves it every time, so I know she is happy there. She even talks of us both going as full time missionary interns, so I should probably start relearning Spanish. Handy I’m marrying a Spanish major. If you would, please pray for her, and her whole crew of 40-something. They have 4 who speak Spanish, and a bunch of kids who have never been on a mission trip before, and I know its going to be challenging from all the World Changer stuff we used to do. And they have to do it in Spanish.
I miss her terribly, and her trips not even half over, but I know God is doing a great work in them and through them, and Hannah has already told me so much about how they are helping, and about how much they are learning. I only wish I could be there too. I think one of the hardest parts about graduating into the “real world” is that I feel like most of those days are over for me. I have to be so diligent and on-time and reliable, the idea of leaving the country for 2 weeks to go on a trip seems nearly impossible. I just pray that’s not the case and its just a weird feeling I have. I know God wont let me become useless; I just have to concentrate on making my more immediate surroundings a mission field, which is hard.
I’d love to hear back from you guys. My hope is that this blog will serve as a gateway to reconnect with friends I havent spoken to in a while. Ive been so caught up with starting a new life here I mostly forget to make time to stay connected, so please, leave me a message about where you are and what you are doing, and get reconnected with me.
Also, I finally gave in and got twitter. So you should find me on there.
